Austin Bar's Association's Fit Bar Challenge 2009
Activity/Point Allocations
Welcome to the Fit Bar Challenge! The information below describes the points awarded for different activities. You may mix and match points from the different levels regardless of what level you are seeking to achieve. You need 100 points to earn the Fit Bar shirt. The points are as follows:
Health Level:
Walking up one flight of stairs - 2 points - Walking down a flight of stairs - 1 point
- Avoiding the closest parking space - 3 point for every 100 feet away from the front door of any business or home
- In-office stretch or exercise - 1 point for each minute (includes beside the desk exercise/stretch break)
- At-home exercise or stretch - 3 points for each half hour
- Walk to and from lunch outside of office - 3 points per direction
- Walk around block of law firm - 3 points per square block
- Walk around block of home - 3 points per square block
- Housework (laundry, cleaning, organizing) - 1 point per 10 minutes
- Yard work (raking leaves, mowing, trimming) - 1 point per 10 minutes
Fit Level:
Participation in an one hour health club class, including yoga, Pilates, spin bike class, aerobics - 10 points - Participation in an ABA sponsored event - 25 points
- Participation in a group run, bike ride, walk, or other athletic activity - 5 points (contact b. Houston for upgrade)
Competitive Level:
Completion of a marathon - 100 points - Completion of a 10K running race - 25 points
- Completion of a 5K running race - 20 points
- Completion of a 50 mile bike race or organized ride - 25 points
- Completion of a bike criterium race - 20 points
- Completion of a 1 mile organized swim or race - 35 points
- Completion of an organized swim or race of 1 ½ mile or more - 20 points
- Completion of an Ironman distance triathlon - 225 points (carry forward to next challenge)
- Completion of a ½ iron man triathlon - 75 points
- Completion of a Olympic distance triathlon - 50 points
- Completion of a triathlon less then Olympic distance - 35 points
- Completion of any other organized athletic event or race - submit for point award
* NOTE: A training run, bike, swim, or triathlon earns half the points of the same race distance.
Miscellaneous Level:
- Jumping to conclusions - 0 points
- Avoiding work - 0 points
- Staring at someone who is not your spouse or significant other - 0 points
