Who can attend Bench Bar?

Due to limited space, only judges, lawyers and speakers may register. Early registration is encouraged.

Are scholarships available for Bench Bar?

Yes, partial scholarships are available. Requests must be received before Monday, March 31, by calling (512) 472-0279. The committee is interested in awarding scholarships to newly licensed lawyers, solo practitioners, and government/agency lawyers who might not otherwise be able to attend.

How soon do I need to register?

The deadline for registration is March 31, but space is limited, so you are encouraged to register early. No cancellations or refunds will be granted after March 31. Payment by check or credit card must accompany registration (unless you are applying for a scholarship)

What does my registration fee cover?

Registration fees include the seminar, course materials, continental breakfast, lunch, commemorative T-shirt, and cocktail party.

How many hours of CLE credit will I earn at Bench Bar?

We have applied for a total of 6.0 hours of MCLE, State Bar College and Board of Legal Specialization credit in all areas. NOTE: Attending Friday's sessions will earn 5.0 CLE hours; Saturday's session will earn 1 hour Ethics CLE.

Is my Bench Bar payment tax deductible?

An income tax deduction may be allowed for expenses of education directly related to maintaining and improving professional skills required for employment.

What is the appropriate attire for Bench Bar?

Casual; because rooms can vary in temperature, you might want to bring a sweater or jacket.
