Austin Lawyers for Hunger Relief 2008
Here is some food for thought:
- One in five adults and one in four children in Texas are hungry;
- 41,000 Travis County children face food insecurity everyday;
- 61 percent of AISD students are eligible for free or reduced lunch;
- 106,930 Travis County residents live below the poverty line.
With figures like these, it's not surprising that Austin Lawyers for Hunger Relief 2008 needs your help. This annual fund drive, operated by the Austin legal community since 1985, supports programs that in very tangible, measurable ways reduce hunger and malnutrition.
